Melaka Bila Larut Malam has now logged 25 editions, about 289,722 visitors, and RM2.89 million in spending since May 2024. The next first Saturday is 7 November 2026. If you only remember one night programme in this city, remember that date and the RM10 ticket, then check the week's announcement because the venue list moves.
The state started this in 2024 by opening selected tourism products after 23:00 for RM10. Zoo Melaka, Menara Taming Sari, the Melaka River Cruise, Panggung Bangsawan, and PERZIM museums were in the first round. Seven editions that year brought 87,553 people. 2025 added food operators on a RM10 combo and more riverbank activity. Eleven editions that year brought 116,714 people. 2026 is the year they started letting visitors in traditional Melaka ethnic dress into selected venues for free.
The hours that are actually posted
Zoo Melaka's night safari is the tight listing. First Saturday of the month, 20:00 to 23:00, ticket counter to 22:30, cap 1,200 people. Malaysians with MyKad or MyKid pay RM10. Full traditional Melaka ethnic attire has been free. October's zoo night landed on 3 October. November's first Saturday is 7 November.
The river cruise is easier to use even when the RM10 night is not on. TourismMelaka lists daily boats from about 09:00 to 23:30, last boat 23:00, about 45 minutes on a 9 km loop past Kampung Morten, the godowns, and the mural walls. I would not print a 23:00 start for Taming Sari or the PERZIM halls on 7 November until the state posts that week's products. TourismMelaka's 14 October note is blunt about this. Prices, hours, and participating venues change between editions.
What 2026 added besides the ticket
Malaysia Heritage Studios in Ayer Keroh, the old Taman Mini Malaysia site, now shows up in the night mix with retro sketches, traditional games, and P. Ramlee films in black and white. That is a different evening from Jonker. It sits next to the zoo, so a family that does the night safari can stay in Ayer Keroh instead of crawling back to Bandar Hilir in a Grab surge.
The 2026 season lists ten participating tourism products. Melaka Hari Ini also notes that early editions put about 30 food operators on the RM10 combo. Treat the food list as last year's shape, not a menu for 7 November, unless the week's poster names the stalls.
Mayor Datuk Shadan Othman has said the entertainment is the side dish. The point is the small traders who keep serving after the usual last museum ticket. That matches what you see on the car-free streets the same weekends. The RM10 night is the indoor and ticketed layer of the same after-dark habit.
Book a hotel in the old town if you are staying out late. Public transport thins after the last bus from Melaka Sentral. A river boat back toward Muara is more useful than waiting for a taxi on Jalan Merdeka at midnight, provided you are still inside operating hours.
